Within the confines of Ling’s family photo album, Ling observed that his past residence in French Guiana and its expansive surroundings remain overlooked in the void of fragmented visual documentation.
The absence of photographic evidence of the temporal essence of family dwelling where Ling spent his childhood leaves him feeling confused and lost in time.
In that regard, Ling committed himself to capturing the minute details of his residence in Hong Kong, where he has lived for the past 11 years, on Polaroid colour films.
Ling hopes that by doing so, he can secure photographic evidences of his home for the future, when the house may no longer exist, helping to lessen the confusion of his vague and seemingly rootless family past.
